Lady Gaga is being sued by a former employee by the name of Jennifer O’Neill — and she is letting loose on the woman over claims that she didn’t pay her overtime pay. Gaga went through her deposition in the case and chose to really tell it like it is.
There’s a videotaped session floating around showing the singer taking her former employee to task on August 6th. The transcription was obtained through court records and you just know that Gaga is not a happy camper.
The songstress told Jennifer’s attorney, “If you’re going to ask me questions for the next five hours, I am going to tell you exactly what f**king happened, so that the judge can read on this transcript exactly what’s going on. This whole case is bulls**t and you know it.”
O’Neill – who worked for the singer from 2009 to 2011, the year she filed her lawsuit – claims the star owes her more than $393,000 in unpaid overtime. During the deposition, Gaga said she paid $75,000 a year to O’Neill, whom she described as a “f––king hood rat who is suing me for money that she didn’t earn,” and it “was essentially a favor, and Jennifer was majorly unqualified.”
She also claims in the deposition that O’Neill wore her clothes and took advantage of her celebrity perks.
“It is, like, such an amazing luxury that I get to travel the world and have planes, she doesn’t even see what a luxury it is, but she thinks it’s owed to her for no reason,” said Gaga. “She slept in Egyptian cotton sheets every night, in five-star hotels, on private planes, eating caviar.”
A major turning point for Gaga was O’Neill’s inability to help her with her luggage when traveling. “One of the biggest problems I had with Jen is that I felt like she didn’t lay out all my stuff for me. There is 20 bags and there is only one me, and I can’t sift through everything,” she said.
As for what it takes to be Gaga’s assistant, “You don’t get a schedule that is like you punch in and you can play f––ing Tetris at your desk for four hours and then you punch out at the end of the day,” she said. “This is – when I need you, you’re available,” she added, along with the fact that she generally gets along with her staff.
“I’m quite wonderful to everybody that works for me, and I am completely aghast what a disgusting human being that you have become to sue me like this,” said Gaga.
In fact, those who work for her just may reap the benefits once the suit is settled. Said Gaga: “I’m going to give all the money that she wants to my employees that work hard for me now that deserve it.”
O’Neill and her lawyers were unable to comment due to a confidentiality order.
