Cara Delevingne's Bushy Eyebrows Have Been London Fashion Week's Hottest Trend

Forget the clothes - the biggest trend at London Fashion Week is bushy eyebrows. Blame wild-browed supermodel Cara Delevingne, who has lit up the catwalk for the likes of Burberry, Chanel and Stella McCartney. 'Cara owes her meteoric rise to her dark, perfectly shaped brows,' says make-up artist Lisa Potter-Dixon. 'Power brows lift the structure of your face, open your eyes and frame your features.'
With a few clever tricks, you, too, can learn how to raise the profile of your arches...

LET THEM GROW
Most people are guilty of over-plucking, but for full, bushy brows, leave them alone for two months, it's OK to pluck a stray hair, but don't let your tweezers touch your natural brow line.'
If your eyebrows are sparse, try a growth-boosting product such as RevitaBrow (£37, Boots), which has been proven to make brows look thicker and fuller in 60 days. For a cheaper option, rub in a drop of Nourishing Brow Oil (£16, blinkbrowbar.com).

CALL IN A PRO
Yes, brows are that serious! It sounds indulgent paying someone to create the shape and colour for you, but prices start from only £12 and there are brow bars in most department stores. Tinting makes brows look fuller and thicker, takes a few minutes and can last up to six weeks, while threading lays the foundation for the perfect shape.
Want to do it yourself? To get the shape right at home, the highest point of your arch should be directly above your pupil. To find the position where your brow should taper out, hold a make-up brush to your face the sweet spot is at an angle of 45 degrees from the corner of your nose. And if you mess up, you can always book in for the bespoke Brows Back On The Road Service (£45, blinkbrowbar.com).

TOP WITH MAKE UP
The best way to create shape and colour is with wax and powder. Brow Zings (£22.50, benefitcosmetics.co.uk), the bestselling eyebrow-shaping compact that includes wax, powder, two brushes and a pair of mini tweezers. For best results, build up colour gradually. Follow the natural arch of your brows, using a slanted brush to draw short flicks with the wax. Work from the outer edge in towards the centre of your face so the product sits on the skin, not on the hairs. Then apply the powder on top of the wax, using the same method.
Wax and powder last longer than brow pencils, but if you have full brows, the fine-tipped Suqqu Eyebrow Liquid Pen (£20, selfridges.com) will tame them.

COLOUR THERAPY

Brows don't have to match your hair colour in fact, darker eyebrows are better as they will add more definition to your face, try some different shades to find the one that flatters your hair colour and skin tone.

COMPLETE THE LOOK

Follow Cara's lead and pair your bold brows with statement red lips, but beware of using heavy eye make-up because too much colour can look scarily full on. For a youthful look, Lisa recommends smoothing a fine layer of Vaseline (£1.49, Superdrug) on the top of your eyelid. With your finger, blend a line of illuminator under your brow bone. MAC Strobe Cream (£22.50, maccosmetics.co.uk) is the classic, but Soap & Glory Arch De Triumph Eyebrow Shaper & Highlighter (£8, Boots) will do the job for less
