Meet Shakira's Newborn Son

Unlike celebrities who cash in on their baby’s first photos by selling them to magazines, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer debuted the first snapshot of her son Milan with his proud papa, soccer player Gerard Piqué, in hopes of raising money for children in need.

The photo, which features the FC Barcelona center-back planting a kiss on the newborn, is available on the couple’s UNICEF website, where the charity is accepting donations of $5 to $110 in celebration of the famous tot’s birthday on Jan. 22.

"We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations,” Shakira, 35, and Piqué, 26, wrote on the website. “Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us.”

According to Shakira, Milan “means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.”
