We all know Jennifer Lawrence donned a gorgeous dark blue Christian Dior gown at the 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA on Jan. 27. Upon receiving her award for best performance by a female actor in Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer, 22, shocked the crowd by showing a little more leg than expected when she stood up. At first, the shocking reveal left us thinking her dress ripped but apparently that wasn’t the case!
A spokesperson for Christian Dior Couture confirms that it was definitely not a rip. “The dress is made with different levels of tulle and satin and that is what the viewers saw when Jennifer lifted her dress slightly. It was not ripped and there was no malfunction…it was the design of the gown,” explains the spokesperson. Had she not lifted the skirt to insure a graceful strut up to the stage, no one would have ever known about the tiered layers.
A lot goes into crafting a couture gown, so it comes as no surprise that layers of fabric made up the gorgeous gown.
