DKNY Fall 2013 Collection

DKNY turns 25 next year, an opportunity for Donna Karan to reflect on the label’s beginnings. Fashion nostalgia for the era is particularly rose-tinted amongst cool young things right now, and it’s no surprise that Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony were recently invited to rifle through the archives for a collaborative collection of reissues.
Classic bomber silhouettes came in every conceivable incarnation from a oversize quilted floor-sweeping black coat right through cropped styles worn over silk dresses for evening. Another urban 1990s staple the sport style body conscious dress was reimagined with curvilinear neoprene panels that were more body skimming than figure hugging and had trompe l’oeil color-blocking.
