Tips And Tools To Get Well-Shaped Eyebrows

The key to any great makeup look is great brows. There’s just no way around it. No matter how well  your eyeshadow is blended and your liner winged, if your brows aren’t on point, it brings the whole look down. Brows help frame your face and if done wrong can actually age you. To achieve the best framing results, you wil need

1 Tweezer

A ‘Best of Beauty’ winner chosen by Allure editors for 12 years. Top eyebrow artists always recommend this original, award-winning Slant Tweezer for expert brow shaping.  The perfectly aligned, hand-filed tips are slanted to grab every hair, every time with the smoothest, true precision.

  • Slant tip is the perfect angle for tweezing brows
  • Stainless steel is long lasting and easy to clean
  • Hand finished, perfectly aligned tips grab every hair, every time

2 Brow Brush

Brush eyebrows hairs up. Work upward and outward to give the brow more definition. Sweep this retractable brush through brows daily to keep them in tip-top shape

3 Brow Pencil

Brow pencils are used to fill in any gaps in your eyebrows. With an eyebrow pencil, use light, feathery strokes  to draw in each hair. Begin at bottom of hair follicle and draw upward following hair direction. Brush with the Brow brush to blend in the eyebrow pencil, again working upward and outward.

Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil

I'd prefer this because this multi-tasking tool features a triangular-shaped soft pencil on one end for defining and filling in gaps, while a sturdy brush waits on the opposite side for grooming.

3 The Technique

Your best brow shape is dictated primarily by your face shape (as seen in the chart above). Your eyes also dictate how long or short your brows should be. You can find these points by using a pencil and angling it on the outer edge of the nose towards the end of the brows. Where the pencil ends is where your brows should end. Then take the pencil and measure it from the outer edge of the nose and hold it straight up towards the inner part of your brows. Where the pencil lands is where your brows should begin. Tweeze or pencil in your brows accordingly
